June 2008 Project on Thesis Requirements
In 2007, CIDD started a project on requirements for Bachelor and Master theses. The project’s goal is to develop a joint catalogue of requirements in order to facilitate thesis writing and thesis assessment within double degree programmes. The results of the projects will be presented at the CIDD annual meeting in Arnhem.
June 13th - 14th, 2008 CIDD Annual Meeting in Arnhem
The 2008 CIDD Annual Meeting will take place at the HAN University (Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen). HAN University is a University of Applied Sciences with over 20,000 students and approx. 2,000 staff. HAN University ranks among the top 10 professional universities in the Netherlands. HAN University is situated in the east of the Netherlands, about 1½ hours drive from Amsterdam. Experienced in developing international programmes, the university’s Business School in Arnhem offers double degree programmes in English at undergraduate and graduate level.
May 21st - 24th, 2008 CIDD International Student Conference in Mainz
Around 30 students from CIDD member universities will meet for a student conference on “Cross-Cultural Management Issues”. The conference, hosted by FH Mainz - University of Applied Sciences, consists of lectures, seminars, work shops and role plays in which students from North America, Europe, and Asia will jointly develop concepts for inter-cultural communication in international management. More information will be placed here soon.
April 4th, 2008 Training Session
Training session on “Joint and Double Degree Agreements - Curriculum Development, Credit Transfer and Quality Control”. The full-day training aims at improving the know-how of programme directors and international offices of Business Schools concerning joint curriculum development and double degree arrangements within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). In a small group of 10 to 20, participants learn about the typical issues arising in joint programmes with double degrees. The target group are programme leaders and internatinal relations officers of business schools in the EHEA with no or first experience with double degrees. The interactive approach gives also room for sharing the participants’ own experience. The seminar has been developed for CIDD members, but is also open for participants from non-CIDD schools.
The training seminar will take place at the Universidad de Valencia on April 4th, 2008.

March 26th - 28th, 2008 APAIE Conference in Tokyo
CIDD will participate in the APAIE conference in Tokyo. The conference of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) on “The Next Wave in Asia-Pacific Higher Education” will be hosted by Waseda University. The CIDD proposal for a session on Joint and Double Degrees in International Business Education was accepted in August 2007. Ulrich Schüle (FH Mainz - University of Applid Sciences, Germany), Mitsuru Suzuki (Växjö University, Sweden), and Mike Matsuro (Osaka Gakuin University) will present the CIDD experience in establishing and running joint programmes and double degree arrangements.
February 28th, 2008 Erasmus Mundus II
CIDD supports the Erasmus Mundus II application of CIDD member universities for Action III: “Enhancing the Attractiveness of European Higher Education”. Using CIDD as a platform, various member institutions will develop a set of activities which will increase the awareness of Double Degree programmes in International Business education.

CIDD Workshop and Booth at EAIE Conference 2007
The EAIE ‘Economics and Business’ (EBS) subgroup’s proposal for a full-day CIDD workshop on Double Degrees to be arranged at the EAIE Annual Conference in Trondheim (12-15 September 2007) has been accepted. Darla Domke-Damonte (Coastal Carolina University, Conway, South Carolina), Yvonne Uphoff (INHOLLAND University Rotterdam) and Ulrich Schüle (FH Mainz - University of Applied Sciences, Germany) will share their experience in double-degree programmes at undergraduate and graduate levels with the audience. The European Association for International Education (EAIE) [www.eaie.org] is a non-profit organisation whose main aim is the stimulation and facilitation of the internationalisation of higher education in Europe and around the world, and to meet the professional needs of individuals active in international education. More than 2000 professionals active in international university education attend the EAIE annual conferences.

July 8th - 28th, 2007 - 4th CIDD Summer School in South Carolina
Coastal Carolina University will again host a group of 25 CIDD students for an intensive summer programme on “Doing Business in the United States”. The programme consists of lectures, seminars, case studies, company visits, and social activities. The overall costs are EUR 1250.00 and include tuition, accommodation in student resident halls and a meal plan. For more information click:
