Full day (training) workshops for program directors and international office staff are offered to all universities regardless of membership. The workshop deals with curriculum development, legal and financial aspects and includes an interactive case study. Its first run took place at the EAIE Conference in Trondheim in 2007, and it has become a regular CIDD activity.
Newest trends in the political and legal framework of joint and double degree arrangements are regularly presented at international conferences, for example at the AACSB annual meeting in Montreal in 2004, at the EAIE Conference in Basel in 2006, at the Conference on Trans-Atlantic Double Degrees in Tampa (Florida) in 2007, and at the APAIE Conference in Tokyo in 2008.
Training workshops on pedagogical and didactical issues about international business education are offered to member universities exclusively. They are based on the experience made through the consortium’s international courses and focus on teaching a culturally diverse student group in English as a foreign language.
CIDD Summer Programs
CIDD also sponsors International Summer Schools on member campuses or sites.
The International Summer School Program on the beautiful campus of Coastal Carolina University (CCU) focuses on the development of a better understanding of the social and business environment of the United States of America. “Doing Business in the USA” includes a combination of lectures, discussions, case studies and field trips to provide a multifaceted approach of understanding the evolution and current conditions of business within the United States. Professors are drawn from a variety of fields to provide a multidisciplinary focus for the program. Field trips include visits to local companies and day trips to international business concerns.
The consortium supports international conferences at member universities which deal with international business education. For example, the two-day conference “The Next Decade Challenges for Business” held at the Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration (RISEBA) was co-sponsored by CIDD, and the conference proceedings published jointly.
